Orlando Code Camp–Speaker Notification

CodeCamp

Orlando Code Camp 2011 is almost here.  We have an awesome list of speakers and sessions and all the sponsors are coming through.  This is my second time organizing this event and it has been fun putting it together.  We are trying some new things this year and I hope that everyone enjoys it!  This message went out to all speakers on Sunday:

Thank you so much for volunteering to speak at this year’s Orlando Code Camp.  I am happy to notify you that you have been selected to speak at the event.  This Code Camp is already shaping up to become our best one ever thanks to such a great speaker lineup.  We have also been really fortunate to get overwhelming support from our sponsors, which is helping put together an event that nobody will want to miss!

What do we need from you:

Please log in to our website (www.OrlandoCodeCamp.com) as soon as possible and update your preferences.  The most important parts are your shirt size (orders are going out this week), and the URL to your picture.  If you didn’t enter your bio when you registered, we also ask that you fill that out.  Tell all your friends about the event through blogs, twitter (hashtag #OrlandoCC), Facebook, email, word-of-mouth, etc.

What to expect:

We will have a Speaker/Volunteer party the night before, on Friday March 25th at 7 pm.   You will receive more information very soon, including venue information and directions.

Code Camp will start at 8:00 am on Saturday, March 26th, with the first session at 8:30.  All sessions will be 1 hour each, with a 10 minute break between them.  We will have breakfast treats and a catered lunch, as well as refreshments throughout the day.  Our after-party will be held at Route 46 Entertainment District, which was a huge hit last year and it will start at 5:30 pm, right after the closing ceremonies and prize give-away.  Of course, we have some great prizes and all speakers are automatically entered into the drawing.

If you need a hotel, we have made arrangements with Marriott – Lake Mary, which is about 7 miles away from Seminole State College.  The special rate will expire soon.
